Awesome Arty-Rock Special

So I've been listening to a lot of artsy stuff lately, predominantly Pink Floyd (which is one of the best bands ever), Queen (which is THE best band ever) and The Who (who just rule hard).

Here is some awesome shit for you to sink your teeth into:

Pink Floyd - Meddle

My favourite Floyd album. I love how every transition between each track is quirky yet fits so well. This was the first of their "big" albums: the start of that glorious run of amazing record after amazing record. This was the "hardest" and most edgy of these. Plus it has "Echoes", which has to be one of the best prog epics ever recorded. Only Animals rivals this as their best album.

Queen - A Night At The Opera

The bombastic, the flamboyant, the catchy, and the musically impeccable Queen has been my favourite band for ages. This album is widely regarded as the apex of their creative output. I agree. This album is fun and catchy as hell but in a good way; a way you don't get bored of. Ever. Plus it has "Bohemian Rhapsody", which has to be one of the best rock epics ever recorded.

The Who - Who's Next

So yeah these guys were just awesome. They made hard, heavy, loud, anthemic rock tunes that KILLED. Daltrey's voice suited the music like no one else's voice could. The rhythm section was unbelievably brilliant, and the songwriting superb. I don't think there has ever been a better pop-rock band (and that is what they essentially were.)
Plus it has "Baba O'Riley", which is the best use of power chords ever recorded.
